Byline: Judy Babcock Wylie Daily Herald Correspondent It’s hard to find a part of Mexico that tourists have not already discovered, but I recently found a secluded stretch along the Costa Alegre, or “Happy Coast,” that comes as close to the definition of a secret vacation haven as any part of Mexico.
The 60-mile Costa Alegre stretches along the Pacific Coast, from a point two hours south of Puerto Vallarta to an area 30 miles north of Manzanillo, and is home to two spectacular resorts and a collection of movie-star-style rental villas perched on coastal rocks.
